With unemployment numbers at an all time low, candidate loyalty is critical for an organization. Recruiting Daily offers up their five tips on how a firm can nurture their relationships with their candidates, going beyond just the interview process.

Constant Communication – from updating a candidate on a job status, to giving feedback on interviews, or responding to a resume submittal, communication is key. Candidates should never feel out of the loop, or be waiting for a response.

Grow Trust – It’s critical that your candidates trust you. Don’t over promise on a job opportunity, or falsely advertise openings. It only takes one bad experience to lose a candidate.

A Relationship Beyond the Job Opportunity – When recruiters build relationships with candidates that extend past working on one job opportunity, they foster a relationship where the candidate will keep coming back to the recruiter.

A Respectful Interview Process – Starting with a lengthy application, moving to a multiple step interview, you want to take a closer look at how much time you are asking candidates to commit to the interview process. Be respectful of their time, and they are more likely to be loyal to your firm.

Truthful Expectations – Going back to building trust, you want your candidate to have realistic expectations of the job you are pitching them. Be truthful, and they will have more respect for you and how you do business.
